So, we had about a free hour on Friday and decided to hit up the Warehouse District for a drink after work. We made a rule awhile back: no chains on #CLEabc! This time we figured, though, it would be such a quick outing, why not stick to the B bars and check out Bar Louie? Walking in, the atmosphere seemed fun, just the type of place you want to hang out on a Friday for happy hour. It wasn't until we sat at the crowded bar for awhile that we realized there were lots of thirsty people without beverages around the quite expansive bar and only one bartender.
THE DRINKS
It wouldn't have been frustrating if we hadn't been on a time schedule (well...maybe it would have), but we were and so it was. Eventually, though, thanks to a gentleman sitting next to us who sacrificed his order for ours, we secured ourselves a bottle of Miller Lite (Connie) and a pomegranate margarita (Melanie).
The Miller Lite (vortex bottle, of course) was nice and cold and the margarita was quite tasty. We had about 20 minutes to throw them back before we headed out, and the crowd grew considerably since we arrived. The bartending staff multiplied, as well, to about 4 which gave them a better chance...but it still took awhile to get our bill and then found out they never even started a tab for us. The bartender even thanked us for being honest...maybe it was just a rough night, but we're not chomping at the bit to get back there. It's probably not a good sign when the guy next to us says "This is why I order 2 at a time." BUT he keeps going back...
And so, it's onto C—Connie got a preview Monday night without even realizing it. This is Dine Out In Chardon week—Citizens For Chardon Schools organized this promotion—support Chardon restaurants and a portion of your bill supports the Chardon levy committee! Monday was dinner and drinks at Cabanas, and Melanie was the first to notice the connection:
Connie at Cabanas in Chardon-a bit of a C overload already! So where should our official C night out take us? Clevelander? Crop? Tweet with #CLEabc and let us know!
